Perhaps, more than once, you've tried to change the way you eat.

You started over.

Made promises to yourself.

Tried to control yourself.

Tried to “pull yourself together.”

And perhaps, each time, it began sincerely. You truly wanted change.

Because the problem is not that you don't care.

Quite the opposite. Very often, this happens to people who know how to be: responsible, disciplined, and strong. People who know how to work. How to keep their word. How to care for others. How to carry the weight of life.

And that is exactly why, at some point, it becomes so difficult to understand what is happening here. Because one part of you understands perfectly well. Understands what is happening. Understands the consequences. Understands that something needs to change.

But then, there comes a moment that becomes difficult to explain even to yourself. As though, inside, something begins happening automatically. And suddenly, a person notices that once again, he is doing not quite what he intended to do.

Sometimes, it can even feel almost irrational. Especially because in other areas of life, you may be a very rational person.

Table

And that is why, at some point, many people begin asking themselves a very painful question:

“Why do I understand — and still keep returning to the very thing I want to escape from?”

And perhaps, the hardest part is not even the food itself. But the feeling that you are beginning to lose clarity about what is actually happening to you.

Because modern people are almost never taught to understand how food can gradually begin affecting not only the body — but also:

your internal state

stress

fatigue

internal tension

pleasure

emotional relief

behavior

We are taught that food is: calories, nutrition, energy.

But almost no one explains that over time, food can gradually begin serving a very different role. Helping a person: calm down, disconnect, relieve tension, reward himself, feel relief, or at least, for a short moment, feel a little better.

And that is why so many people do not even realize that little by little, they begin living inside this cycle.

They tell themselves:

Messages

Notes to self

I'm just stress eating.

It's just hard for me to stop.

I just had a difficult day.

I simply enjoy good food.

But underneath all of that, a much deeper process may be unfolding.

And perhaps, that is why you are reading this now. Not because you lack willpower. But because, at some point, you began to feel that the issue may go much deeper than food alone.
